What's Up?

This year I thought I would do a month review to treasure a few of the accomplishments, challenges, what we are learning and saying, and how life is going (so I don't forget, you both are growing so fast)!

AND, I already missed January, so thought I would start in February! Better late then never (and January is already a blur, I better get typing before this moment passes by ever so quickly.

How You're Growing
VW - I think you have grown at least 2 inches since Thanksgiving! Good thing Cousin NR is growing too, because your high waters are much to high and hand-me-downs are the best! Daddy teases you often that we put bricks on your head at night to stop you from growing. You don't buy and keep growing anyway! You are starting to gain a little weight on your tall, lean body: 39 lbs.

DG - as usual, you are trying your best to keep up with your brother! I already hauled out the 3T/4T clothes your brother wore the fall he was 3 or last year!! Your not quite as stocky as you were as a baby but you still weigh close to your brother:

What You're Reading
I think we read the same two books every night this month. Both books by David Shannon: The Rain Came Down and Too Many Toys.

VW has Too Many Toys memorized and loves to beat me through the pages. Or does his best to watch my mouth form the words, so he can guess what is next. I often remind the boys how blessed they are with their abundance of toys and inquire when we will clean up their train of toys.

DG loves The Rain Came Dow, barking yowling, and honking right along. Always insist that I be loud, even when the rain has stopped and the rainbow fills the sky.

Sometimes we sneak one more fav in: The Ice Cream King! Who doesn't love themselves a great ice cream book!?! Plus, this one is great, as the morale of the story is, never eat ice cream alone!

What You're Saying
DG - you have quite the array of stories and sayings. Often we are quite amazed of what comes out of your mouth. Some are more precious than ever and others you can move on with already. For example, we love how you say "o-tah" and you rarely miss a "tank you" but often miss the please. When you do tell your elaborate stories, with a tip of your head and "cuz" we know you have lots to say, "cuz." What we are done hearing is, "My Mommy told me," "My Daddy told me", or you even try "My Brother told me." Its not working, Bubba, so move on!

While reading a book, DG asked a question and I responded "mm-uh" and he said say "yay" and I responded, "I did." He looked at me fervently and said, "no, you say mm-uh, say yay!"

VW - you are always talking, really you spare nothing in the story telling area...

Did You Just Do That?
A fav chuckle, shake of our head moment with DG this month occurred when he was telling us one of "his stories." Nana looked to Daddy and says, "how old is?" He responds in the background, "Five." Oh, really five? "Yep, I pretend I'm five." Got it Bubba! You are already growing to fast...slow down!
