It's All Good!

How You're Growing?

VW - You are growing up so much. This month we headed to the Millard School to visit the hearing specialist. You were hestiate to enter the metal, space-like box, but you did! You repeated the words you heard...hot dog,watermelon...then raised your hand proudly with each *beep.*  Those masive headphones squashed your hears closing your ear canals so in went some hearing buds...and you passed with flying colors. It's official...your ears are ready for Kindergarten.

DG - We were not quite sure what to do with you this month. Boy you tore out Mommy's and Daddy's heart strings and we had lots of conversations if we were making the right choices. You see, you seemed to have a tummy che all month. This is a hard one, cuz that tummy almost only seemed to hurt at buddies. So did you just want to be home with your family or did something change there? Quite the conundrum! Finally we decided to eliminate the physcial and headed to Dr. M. Your tummy was just fine, whew! So extra love and yogurt "to make the tummy all better" (advice from doc) and you seemed to figure out that everything was okay.

What You're Reading?

Once again DG pulled out the same books to read every night this month. It is really cute, cuz he gets really good at reading them!  Plus who doesn't them a good jingle! The Wheels on the Bus go round n round!

Now this Pete the Cat gets himself into all colorful situations, but the moral of the story is priceless...no matter what life brings you or what you step in...it's all good.

Finally a good camping story with Just Me and My Dad brings quite the adventure with fish stories, bears, and campfire scares...but its all okay when it's just me and my dad.

What You're Saying?

VWs excitment this month at swimming lessons has been priceless, since he used to cry the whole time and never get in the water. This month he exclaimed, "It's incredible Mom, I touched the bottom," beaming ear to ear!

DGs babbling, mumbo-jumbo finishing with "cuz I'm a MAN!"

Did You Just Do That?

Super proud of VW this month as he continues to grow in his independence. It is fun to watch him grow. One our fav realizations this month has been to be excited about meeting up with his friends at church. From gripped legs and tears to see ya later, Mom. Love to see experience your growth and comfort...

Today is Your Day!

The month of February was dedicated to Dr. Seuss at buddies. Lots of great Dr. Seuss books were read and enjoyed and the amount of amazing art projects displayed was tremendous. While, parents were constantly reminded about a dress-up day at the end of the month, that this mom only thought about casually. Then two days before the big event VW inquired excitedly, "what am I going to dress up as?" "Ummm..." is not the right response. A quick search on Pinterest, a trip to the second-hand store, fabric store and party supply store, I had it...nothing better than dressing up like Thing 1 and Thing 2 with your little brother.

Boy did these two thrive, giggle and make Thing 1 and Thing 2 too close to reality! Words can not describe the events of the morning, but pictures are priceless!

And one final snapshot with VWs friends.
Our boys are so amazing and I love the way the interact with each other, even when it as rambunctious as Thing 1 and Thing 2, because why fit in when you born to stand out? For you two have brains in your head and feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way!

Just Swinin'

So nice to be enjoying some sunshine and swingin'.

VW became a more daring over the winter months
and started flying through the air by leaping off!

While DG decided he was ready for the big swing.

And nothing like swinin' together with your
brother...it will be a fun summer!

He's Ready!

Feb 24 - VW had a good day. He listened to me most of the time and use some good manners (please and thank you). His work was done quickly and he's almost even steven with another classmate as the tallest.

Feb 25 - VW had a good day. We read a Dr. Seuss story and drew pictures in our journal. He chose Go-Now Go-Now.

Feb 26 - VW had a good day. He enjoyed going through the magazines you brought! THANK YOU! He made a Healthy Heart collage. And, his Dr. Seuss "Thing" is on the door.

Feb 27 - VW had a reasonable day. He did a lot of center play, though his Dr. Seuss journal work was cute. He did have Time-Out in room 103 at nap time. Oops.

Feb 28 - Thing Ingram had a fun day. He walked on eggs (only 1 broke). And we saw laser lights vibrate. Very cool.

Mar 4 - VW's mouth got him into Time-Out 3 times today. Our hot/cold experiment was a bomb. Art was fun. VW is working on his phone number, too!

Mar 5 - VW had a loud and spirited day! We measured the length of a blue whale and painted one. Happy Feet was good too!

Mar 6 - VW had a good day. He loved making his sea urchin. Happy Birthday, Dad! He's been talking about that all morning. Relax, he doesn't know how old are. It's still a secret.

Mar 7 - VW loved the animal encounter program. He touched an alligator and a Honey Bear, and legless lizard. A roach was put on his hat, but it fell off (ooo).

Mar 10 - VW had a VW day. We went out for morning recess. It was wonderful. He finished his project in no time. He needs to be in Kindergarten! He's ready!

Mar 11 - VW had one of those days that is full of silly noises, faces and spoken words. I was not amused. He did listen to instruction during journal writing and project time! He has one spot left to fill on his sticker chart.

Mar 12 - Oh, my was VW a busy boy! He caught a few disciple fish and drew 12 fish in his journal. Happy Feet was awesome! Plus, VW filled his sticker chart.

Zoo Kinda of Day

Daddy had the opportunity today to work another Saturday, so the boys and I spent the morning organizing and cleaning and then rewarded ourselves with a trip to the zoo!

Although the warm weather seemed to have everyone thinking the same thing. We parked much further away from the zoo entrance than normal, so we stopped by the Rosenblatt stadium for some fun time running the bases.

Two pitchers on the mound!

And a quick photo-op before heading to the zoo.

This guy was full of adventure and did tricks for the zookeeper.

DG thought it important to bring his binnoculars.

We thought this gorilla was pretty funny with his hand on his hip.

We watched the ducks for a long time. They were flying around like crazy and the skidding across the water for a landing. The boys thought they were playing tag!

VW was excited that he remembered his own camera and didn't have to share mine this time. He got some fun shots of the cats, of course, the puma, and even learned how to zoom in nice and close.

Ending the day with one last photo-op in front of the jungle.

Including the freckled-lips of his mommy...
with that amazing close zoom I was telling you about!
