Where's DG?

DGs absolute sweetness, cuddles and adorableness is melting my heart.

He gives full puckered lip kisses and tight around the neck hugs.

When he wakes and you ask him how he slept, he tilts his head to the side and makes snoring noises.

When you put him to bed he says "mama, mama, no nigh-nigh. woke up!"

When he sees a motorcycle he revs his engine. A fire truck, he immitates the siren.

While reading transportation books, he points on the 'sailing yacht' and says "Pirate Ship..ha, ha, ha."

He often asks for his "brother."

And when you can't find, he is often found with "my Bailey." Oh, buddy you are too sweet!

The Zoo From A Different Perspective

Off on a wonderful Sunday afternoon trip to the zoo a couple weeks ago. This time the task at hand was to explore the curious, fun animals in different exhibits versus our typical visit to the lions and monkeys.

So, we checked out the aquarium and the jungle.

We were even daring (or mom was) to take a round trip on the skyfari! DG rode with mommy and VW with Daddy. DG was squeezed tight on my lap! Once, he fought me to sit by himself, which I relunctanly obliged only to have him beg me to sit on my lap...he couldn't see. DG did notice ever ladder on the skyfari supports and a few animals. He didn't think we should go over the water as it would be "cold!" Peeking behind me to Daddy and VW all I could see was the beaming smile on VWs face. Both excitedly announced the discovery of poo by the rhinos! Wonderful memories with no pictures on the skyfari...I was holding on for dear life!

Hanging With a Dino Named Sue

We ended our wonderful week off with a trip to the Durham to hang out with a T-Rex named Sue!

But before we found Sue we had to stop at the station that represented our age and hang out in a train!

DG wasn't so sure about the spinning T-Rex head...but soon was daring enough to approach with his big brother.

DG still unsure about these crazy dino fossils!

Is Sue eating up Daddy?

Time for a fossil hunt!

Hanging in the street car and
checking out the antiques!

Time for some roaring with our dino puzzles we created!

At the station, did we see everything
we wanted on this trip?

Hey Little Girl, what's your name?
Nice to meet you!

Big Wheelin'

Daddy loved his big wheel when he was a little guy (most little guys of his time did). I remember Uncle B riding his to ends of the earth, too. So riding until the wheels are gone is the norm.

Nana and Papa thought it would be fun for the boys to have some fun  big wheelin' times too! Perfect fit for VW.

DG was not thrilled to have to wait his turn.
He had an appropriate DG ride, but was not interested.
Always wants what his brother has!

DGs turn...he could reach the peddles but was unable to make the full turn to move.

VW trying to show DG that this little ride is just as fun as the big wheel.

Fun times cruisin' down the block.

Splish Spalsh

The coolness in the air as we left Omaha did not give us much hope for fun in the sun at King's Pointe. Who would have ever thought you would pulling on long-sleeve shirts the last week of July? But as the lazy vacation days went by warmth filled the air and we headed to the water park for two afternoons of splashing.

We climbed these steps twice with VW to experience the orange tube ride (on the right) only to turn back around. DG, however, giggled, cheered, and demanded "more-more" in both sign language and words as soon as we shot out the bottom. VW did thoroughly enjoy the green slide indoors, which he climbed each step excitedly and splashed at the bottom by himself countless times.

We did the lazy river a few times with Nana and Papa, even as the boys lips turned purple due to the heater being broken and the water so frigid. Still fun to float lazily along.

The boys also enjoyed running through the shooting water and playing as only boys play.

We did take a break or two to warm up and have a snack
and then right back at it!

DG did the little orange curve slide outside by himself over and over. It was cute to watch him observe the other kids and take turns. VW conquered crossing the lily pads (with help), but thought this a fun way to 'walk on water.'

At the end of the day we headed out tired
from the sun, splashing around, and proud
of all we tried and the thrill of new experiences.
DG decided he would leave with us,
but he was not going to hold hands.
